The Sun holds out the promise for our energy future, due to the fact that this form of energy has been with us millions of years in the past and will be with us long into the future. Thus, the sun is our oldest and most basic source of energy. The sun’s energy is abundant, and ever-present. The sun, unlike fossil fuels or nuclear energy, will not pollute our air, water, and soil and is at such a distance that the harmful radiation effects are shielded by our earth’s atmosphere. Thus, solar energy holds great promise for our modern sustainable energy needs and can potentially eliminate our dependence on fossil fuels.
There are four basic  ways solar energy that you can be used in your home.   First, solar electricity, or Photo Voltaic (PV) systems, are mono, poly crystalline, or ribbon technologies installed in a panel that produce electricity. This electrical energy can be either grid-tied or be a stand-alone system.  The second and third ways are solar thermal, which can be either a passive or active use of thermal energy in either heating air or water:
The sun’s energy can heat up the air with solar energy, which is then blown into your home or business to reduce your heating bill.
The sun’s energy can also heat up water, which is then circulated into your domestic or commercial hot water system, which will provide hot water and substantially reduce your energy needs. The fourth way is wind, which is also a form of solar energy because wind results from the unequal heating and cooling of the earth surface. Placing a wind turbine on a tower at the correct height can provide all the energy you need for a home, camp, and commercial needs.
