Incentives:

The federal government, as of January 1st, 2009 is offering a 30% Federal Tax Credit, which can be rolled over for 8 years on any alternative energy system.

    Some of the Utilities in Michigan are presently offering a payment for each kWh of electricity produced by a form of alternative energy. Wisconsin Electric presently will pay 22.5 ¢/ per kWh and give the customer (on 1.5 kW systems or greater) a ten year contract.

Where the lines cross is your payback period. Your savings after 30 years is close to $160,000.00 if you invested your savings each month at 5% interest.
